145th St
Lines:
IND Eighth Ave Line
IND Concourse Line
List of closed areas:
145th St was built as an important express transfer station between IND Eighth Avenue Line subway trains to upper Manhattan and IND Concourse Line trains to the Bronx.
Originally containing three sets of exits, the station has seen one closed off entirely due to security concerns and the presence of a police precinct at the station; the station's mezzanine was split into three portions, with the middle third being closed to the public. This makeshift central portion had one entrance at the northwestern corner of 146th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.
