IRT Seventh Ave Line
List of closed areas:
34th St/Penn Station was built as an important express station with connections to Penn Station, which serves Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit, and Amtrak trains.
Several entrances have been closed in the station. One set of entrances, which was located at the south end of the downtown local platform, had a passage to the current Amtrak concourse of Penn Station, as well as an exit to the west side of Seventh Avenue between 33rd Street and 32nd Street. It was likely closed due to security concerns, but may be reopened if Amtrak decides to take action. There was also a passage under 33rd Street to the nearby 34th Street/Herald Square station. It was closed in the mid-1980s due to security concerns.
